Are you another rideshare/deliver service?
No. We don't compete with any of the rideshare, food, grocery or parcel delivery companies. Using community data, we're here to help you better understand when, where and what job to work in your city so that you can earn more in less time.
Does this cost anything?
Not at this time. Solo is currently a free service for Solopreneurs that can be used to guarantee your income and maximize your time using our pay predictions. In the future, there may be a small cost to access the service.
How do you actually help me make more in less time?
Today, worker earnings on any one company's platform (Uber, Doordash, Instacart, etc.) can be extremely volatile day to day or even hour to hour. They have different peak demand/pay periods and different levels of supply constraints. Without transparent, market wide earnings information it can make your decision of where and when to work extremely difficult. We're here to give you all the information you need to see what jobs are paying the most in real time and make it easy to plan your schedule to hit your earnings goal faster.
This seems too good to be true. How can you guarantee pay?
It's not too good to be true - it's math and statistics! As more Solopreneurs join the Solo platform, we are able to provide increasingly accurate pay predictions. As these predictions reach a certain level of reliability we then guarantee them for those scheduling their app based work with the Solo platform.
Does Solo track my location and miles?
Not yet, but it's coming soon! We work with the information provided by your work accounts to help you estimate mileage and plan to offer you the ability to track your miles with the Solo app in late 2021.
Does this work in my city?
Right now, Solo is only available in the Seattle metro area (spanning from Everett to Olympia and East to North Bend). You can let us know you want to access to Solo in your city by signing up for our waitlist or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Is Solo available in the app store?
Not yet! We're only on the web at the moment, but will let you know when we offer a mobile app for iOS and Android in late 2021.
How do I link my work accounts?
You can link as many work accounts (Uber, Doordash, Instacart, etc.) as needed during the signup process. To do this, you use your login cedentials (usually an email or phone number) and the password associated with that account. Some companies may ask you to verify the connection via a text or email. If you begin working with other platforms after you have signed up you can link those accounts by accessing the 'Link Your Accounts' page in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
How long does it take to sign up?
Signing up can take as little as two minutes. Just follow these steps:
1. Sign up here to create your free profile on Solo
2. Securely link your work accounts (Uber, Doordash, Instacart, etc.) by logging in with your specific account credentials.
3. Start scheduling your optimal and guaranteed schedule using Solo's pay predictions!
Security & Data
What will you do with my data?
We use your data to help provide insights about your individual work history across multiple earnings sources. This data is aggregated anonymously with others in the community to provide city-level pay and performance benchmarks. We will delete your data if 1) you disconnect a linked work account or 2) if you delete your Solo account.
Do you store my login information? Can you access my accounts?
Your login credentials are secure, encrypted and sent directly to your chosen app which allows us to securely retrieve trip data. We will never receive a copy of your login info and we are not able to access your accounts. When you disconnect a linked work account, we also delete all data related to that user and platform.
Pay Guarantee Program
What is the Solo Pay Guarantee Program?
The Pay Guarantee program provides a daily income guarantee to users who use Solo’s pay predictions to schedule their app based work schedule. If you earn less than what Solo predicted on a daily basis, we will pay you the difference at the end of the week.
What do I need to do to qualify for the Pay Guarantee program?
1. Register on the Solo Platform using an email and creation of a password
2. Link your corresponding “app based” or “gig work” accounts (i.e. Uber, Lyft, Doordash, Grubhub, Ubereats, Shipt, Instacart, Amazon Flex, GoPuff, etc) and maintain that connection when participating in the Solo Pay Guarantee program.
3. Explicitly opt in to the Solo Pay Guarantee program via the application, email or text communication. It’s easiest to do this when you sign up, but you can also do this after signing up by going here and clicking “yes.”
4. Use the Solo Pay Prediction feature to add hourly work blocks and save your schedule
5. Explicitly opt in and keep Solo’s location tracking feature on while working the scheduled time blocks
6. Be online, accepting the majority of requests and completing (according to the terms and conditions of the gig company) the corresponding jobs on those selected gig company accounts during the hours scheduled via the Solo Pay Prediction feature in the Seattle/Everett/Tacoma metro area.
7. Link a payment method (Venmo, Paypal or other) via the Solo application to facilitate pay out of any applicable reimbursement
Why do I need to save my schedule?
The Pay Guarantee tool shows you the optimal earnings schedule for your day. Saving your selected job schedule allows us to know which job you plan to work (and the corresponding predicted earnings to attribute to your pay guarantee).
Does this cost anything?
We’re offering the program for free to early members if you sign up, link your gig work accounts and schedule your first work day prior to January 1st, 2022.
Where does this data come from and how do you predict hourly earnings?
We are able to provide earnings predictions for major gig jobs across each hour and day of the week by using collective data and insights from the Solo community. This real, community based data informs Solo’s predictive algorithm, which shows your predicted earnings by job and hour. Your anonymized work information contributes to the community insights; however, your personal information is never available to anyone else.
Why are you offering this?
Our overarching goal is to provide income stability for workers in the gig space by eliminating the downside risk associated with flexible work and variable pay. We believe this can be accomplished by providing you with better earnings data that solves the problem of where, when and what job you should work to hit your income goals. We want to help you, and others, stabilize earnings and optimize your time.
How do I track whether I hit my daily Pay Guarantee amounts?
You can see your hour by hour breakdown on the Pay Guarantee page (located in the left dropdown menu upon login). This page will show you a side by side breakdown of the hours you scheduled, what Solo predicted and what you qualified for when working those jobs. Check out our blog to read about other Solopreneurs’ experiences!
When do I get paid?
Payouts occur once weekly. While your earnings are assured on a daily basis, you will be able to access any accrued amounts for the prior week (Monday to Sunday) on the following Tuesday. For example, if you earn five dollars less than Solo’s predictions for each of the three days you schedule and work in a given week, you will accrue a daily amount of $15 for the week. Payouts will occur on Tuesdays during the day.
Is the Pay Guarantee Program in my city?
Solo and the Pay Guarantee program are only available in the Seattle/Tacoma/Everett metro area right now (since July 2021), but we will be adding new cities soon! Join our waitlist to be the first to know when we come to your city!
